- Frequently asked questions

How can we judge the quality of your training compared with other courses? All LFTW’s addictions training courses have been developed from 37 years ’hands on’ experience in working with people who have addictions. Our trainers not only have qualifications in working with addictions but also work or have worked with youth or adults with addiction problems. The fact that our flagship certificate course is university validated and meets key DANOS (Drug and Alcohol National Occupational Standards) criteria is an added quality assurance.
Is your training available everywhere in the UK? Yes, LFTW can run one day or longer training courses anywhere in the UK. This is subject to a minimum number of 12 for the Universirty Certificate Course and the maximum numbers referred to for Modular and awareness courses. We do require a positive learning environment with for example space or other rooms to enable group work to take place. Please discuss your requirements with us - info@lftw.org or Tel: 0845 2410973
We don’t need a certificate level course for our level of involvement what can you offer? We can provide modular training (Go to Modular training), awareness training or a new course that we have piloted with the Marah project Stroud a 20 hour volunteer certificate. We can also discuss specific training needs; our training needs analysis form may be helpful in this. View PDF
We only have a limited budget how can we fund this training? With the University Certificate Course a payment plan over 6 or 9 months can be arranged and a limited number of bursaries are available. In addition, a number of grant making trusts will fund training for individuals, often these are local, and details can be obtained from your library. If you want training and funding is a problem please talk to us. info@lftw.org or Tel: 0845 241 0973
