Network with people who understand about addictions

-

We provide a forum for Christians who either have a background of drugs or alcohol abuse (or any addictive behaviour) to share experiences and encouragements.

We also welcome Christians who work in the addictions field with individuals or families and those whose lives are affected by a family member who has an addiction.

The objective of this forum is to provide a safe, monitored and supportive environment where we can express our hopes and fears and frustrations and help each other to grow towards maturity in Christ. If appropriate, LFTW would be willing to assist in establishing local support groups for Christians recovering from addictions and link such groups with concerned local churches.

The LFTW support network aims to produce an e-news letter ‘Free Indeed’ which will share information and testimonies to help people in recovery and encourage families, workers and volunteers. ‘Free Indeed’ was the magazine of the Kestrel Trust, founded in 1987, which became part of LFTW in 2001.

Kestrel wanted to establish a bridge between recovering drug addicts and the wider church to prevent former users becoming marginalised. This network shares this vision and seeks to remove any barriers and misunderstandings that may exist between former addicts and the churches they wish to join.

Training is available to help churches understand the nature and scope of addictive behaviour and how it can damage individuals, families and even communities. Visit our Church and Community page and Training Courses for more information.

We are also planning an archive resource of articles relating to this side of our work - coming soon!
